Fast. The basic phase of my current training in army has ended after 5 weeks of lectures and practicals. Specialization phase will be starting next week. Hope that the schedules will not be as hectic as the basic phase for the next 7 to 8 weeks.
Here are some of the interesting phrases that the instructors or the sergeants like to use and say to us:
1. “Hey you knock it down!” (Individual)
2. “Whole lot knock it down!” (Platoon level » 35+ ppl)
3. “Whole course knock it down!” (Course level » 200++ ppl)
4.“Good luck to you ahh” (In a sarcastic manner)
5. “You guys better behave yourself, or else arr, good luck to you..”
6. “Oi! Shut up!”
7. “Can keep quiet aaannnoooot?”
8. “Ok nvm! Finger on your lips!”
9. “Heyyyy.. How long you need?”
10. “Can faster anot? Waiting for the cow to come home izzit?”
11. “You think? You think then who confirm??”
12. “You thought? I thought you knock it down!”
13. “You are commanders to be.. can act like it anot?..”
14. “You want me to treat you like kids anot?”
15. “Ready to fire?” (we echo: Ready to fire!)
16. Instructor: “Ok everyone, Sunday night book in 8pm” Trainees: “huhhh..” instructor: “who huhhh? Knock it down! Faster.. don’t waste my time.”
17. “If you are sad about your posting, you can talk to the tree there”
18. “You see that tree? Ok, go touch all the trees except that one.”
19. “Those caught sleeping, the people from your left, right, front and back will stand up.”
20. “You! Why you sleep during my lecture? You want to sleep during the weekends?”
21. “Hey you! Ya you! You wearing beret or you wearing turban?”
Those are some of the ‘laughing matters’ in my course of training in the basic phase. However, sometimes it hard to control from laughing out loud. Because laughing at what the instructors were saying when they are serious can mean that spending your weekends in camp and such.
Seven more weeks of endurance. Seven more weeks of mental perseverance. Seven more weeks to become a sergeant. Seven. The Lord will bring me through.
Yes. He will.
